HAVING A GO AT KAPITI BMX

Kāpiti BMX Club welcomes all prospective new members

It can be daunting when you first come along to the track to check out BMX - remember that we are here to help you out and get you riding!

Here's a few tips to help you out.

  • Our training during daylight savings are on Wednesday evenings with registration from 4.45pm, training 5.00- 6.00pm.
  • Our club (race) nights during daylight savings are on Friday evenings with registration from 5.15pm.

If it's your first time, get to the track as early as possible to chat with the people in the shed. They will be able to give advice and help you hire gear and bikes that you may need.

Getting there early will almost guarantee you a chance to get all the information you need and hire any gear.

If the rider is under 16 years old, a parent or guardian must be present at all times during club events. BMX is an extreme sport, and Kāpiti BMX Club is not an extreme sport babysitting service.

New riders are offered the first three weeks for free to enable the rider to try the sport and decide if they wish to sign up as a member.

BUT keep an eye on the Kāpiti BMX Club Facebook page or download the Kapiti BMX Club sporty app for weather updates and alerts.

  • The BMX season runs from late September until mid-April (approximately daylight savings dates).
  • We do not run club nights outside of those dates we will sporadically hold gates sessions or run some fun club races.
  • Riders are welcome to use the track at any time as long as there is not a club night or club training at that time.
