In the KSI New Zealand grading structure the next grade after 1st kyu Brown belt, is "Shodan ho".
All members must grade to "Shodan ho" before attempting to grade to Shodan.
Dan Gradings for Shodan ho, Shodan & above can only be attempted following completion of a pre dan assesment and a subsequent written recomendation from the Chief Instructor KSI New Zealand.
No Dan Grades will be recognized if they do not fulfill the above requirements
