INFORMATION
Basketball is played in Term 2 and 3 on friday nights. Games are played generally at school in our gymnasium or other school gymnasiums. There may be times where games are played at Parakiore Recreational Centre or Pioneer Stadium. Game times can very between 4.00pm and 8.00pm.
Trials generally take place for our Mairehau Basketball teams prior to the season starting. This will be run through our sports co-ordinator and students will be placed in appropriate teams.
TRAINING
All Boys Teams: Thursday 4.30pm-6.00pm at Mairehau High School Gym.
All Girls Teams: Tuesday & Thursday 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Mairehau High School Gym.
UNIFORM
Players must wear plain black shorts. Teams will be given a basketball singlet prior to their game commencing from our sports coordinator. Sports shoes are highly encouraged to allow for comfort and safety while playing. Mouthguards are also compulsary, no mouthguard = no play!
PAYMENT
Basketball is charged per season. The fee per student is $100. This covers the entry fee for the team into SSC, referee and bench official koha as well as transport when needed.
