Netball Northern, Mangonui NC, Kerikeri NC, Whangarei NC, Rodney NC, Northern Wairoa NC & Bay of Islands NC are proud to offer Northland based representative & performance programmes.
The purpose of the Northland Cluster Representative and Performance Programs is to grow the number and quality of athletes, coaches, managers and umpires in our region, and across our centres. We endeavor to provide opportunities for whānau to explore concepts of physical training methods, mental skills, netball specific skills, setting goals and most importantly oppertunities to represent Northland at both Regional and National Events.
Aims:
- Grow athletes in an environment designed for learning the lifestyle and work ethic.
- Develop and support coaches, managers and support staff who aspire to work in the performance environment.
- Connect umpires aspiring to reach national squads with training opportunities to develop their skill set.
- Provide a platform for participants to continue their journey through to the Netball Northern Elite Performance Programme
Implementation Plan:
Year One - 2022
- Establish systems and processes for a fair and transparent representative programme
- Field an Under 18 Squad to attend the Auckland Representative Circuit
- Provide a Post Season Development Camp
Year Two - 2023
- Field an Under18 Team to attend the Netball NZ Under18 Champs
- Promote & gain interest in an Opens Team to attend the Netball NZ Opens Champs in 2024
- Establish a Post Season Development Programme
Year Three - 2024
- Field an Under18 Team to attend the Netball NZ Under18 Champs
- Field an Opens Team to attend the Netball NZ Opens Champs
- Cement the Post Season Development Programme
Northland Cluster are endeavoring to provide a long-term sustainable programme for Coaches, Managers, Support Staff and Players to represent Northland at National Events.
