The NAPIER ATHLETIC CLUB is a friendly family orientated club where the athletes fun, fitness, skill development, and safety is of most importance. That is why we are fortunate to opperate on an athlete friendly grass track suitable for any age.

The NAPIER ATHLETIC CLUB endeavours to help all of our members to enjoy athletic activities, whether this involves regular competitive involvement, social participation, or as a way to increase personal fitness levels

The
NAPIER ATHLETIC CLUB recognises the  Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD)model as promoted by SPARC, IAAF, and Athletics New Zealand. The LTAD model has been developed based on the research of the Canadian Sport Centres LTAD expert group.

The LTAD model is a framework for an optimal training, competition and recovery schedule for each stage of a childs athletic development. The
NAPIER ATHLETIC CLUB Committee follows this model and its practices, so that as a club we are more likely to produce athletes who reach their full athletic potential.

The
NAPIER ATHLETIC CLUB believes that pushing athlete development too quickly and rushing kids into competition which is not age appropiate, will result in shortcomings in the athlete's physical, techincal, tactical, and mental abilities in sport long term.
