Association Croquet Club Days

Wednesday 12.30 -3pm

Saturdays  12.30 – 3pm

You need to have your name down for play on club days by 12.30 pm for the start of play at 1 pm.  The draw for some games is made to mix players of varying skill levels, and other games to provide play for players with similar handicaps. In this way the desire to share and provide assistance to players starting out, as well as satisfying players wanting the challenge of an equal battle, is accommodated.

Many will arrive early to share a practice round or two, with time for a cuppa.  All share in the setting out of the hoops. Members will put their name tag on the board for the draw to be organised. The rounds will be called on the hour. You can choose how many games to play, one, two or three.

Members will have a key to the pavilion and can access the lawns in their own time, for practice, casual games, or early evening play during Summer. Friday afternoon casual play, often followed with a BYO drink and food, has become a regular feature. A great way to wind up the week.

Croquet at NHCC is played all year. Lawns are generally available to club members at all times, outside the organised Club Day play. (see Club Days), and tournamant play. When Regional or National tournaments are taking place play will be restricted to competitors, however access to Richmond or Riwaka croquet grounds may be possible.   There will be times when due to lawn conditions or maintenance work, the lawns are closed for all play.
