Rowing doesn't have to stop after Highschool.  For those keen to carry on there are options for both recreational and competitive rowing.

Club rowing is a great way to continue in the sport if you are planning on staying in Nelson.  NRC has a proud history of Club rowing with those choosing to row competitively winning medals at National Regattas. For those heading to the Cities, many have strong Clubs.

Rowing Performance Centres (RPC) have the role of developing rowing talent and providing a clear high performance pathway. There are 4 RPC's spread throughout New Zealand.  Trials are required for selection into an RPC.  Nelson Rowing Club falls under the Central RPC in Blenheim.

University Rowing in New Zealand aims to provide a rowing experience which enriches a student’s pursuit of academic excellence. There are currently nine university campuses within New Zealand that participate in rowing. Each university runs their own programme and these usually kick off at the start of semester one.
