Te Wai Pounamu tournament is held in Christchurch every year around mid-December. Junior teams from Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, Southland and Marlborough come together to play against each other, learn and upskill.
Nelson Touch usually sends:
- Under 14 Boys
- Under 14 Girls
- Under 16 Boys
- Under 16 Girls
- Under 18 Boys
- Under 18 Girls
Players, management and coaches leave Nelson via bus on the Saturday morning 6am, arrive in Christchurch Saturday mid-day. Games take place from 2pm onwards on the Saturday and finish up around 2pm on Sunday. Players, management and coaches then take the bus back home to Nelson.
- Playing uniforms are provdided
- Hoodies may be purchased (roughly $60)
Nelson Touch provides:
- Transport to the tournament
- Accomodation Saturday night
- Saturday/Sunday game day snacks/kai
- Dinner Saturday night
- Breakfast Sunday morning
- Suncreen
Coaches and managers will be travelling and staying with their teams.
