OPEN MIXED - 21 MIXED - MASTERS

OPEN MIXED

The Nelson Open Mixed team is our highest performing representative team. We send a Nelson Open Mixed team to the National Touch Championships every year. In 2019 the team placed 2nd, taking home the silver. In 2023 and 2024 the team took home the gold, winning the final and being crowned the best Open Mixed team in the country.

UNDER 21 MIXED

Nelson Touch has sent an Under 21 Mixed team to the National Touch Championships the last 3 years. To be available for selection in this team players need to be under of 21 before the 31st of Decemeber. If you are unsure about this please check with our coaches/managers at the trial.

Trials/Training/Tournament Information

• Trials are held end of December every year - check our facebook/instagram for exact dates/times/location
• Anyone can trial for this team, there is no age requirement 
• If you cannot make the trial but would still like to be considered please email: nelsonbaystouch@hotmail.com
• If the tourament location requires flights to attend, once a player has been named in this team they can book flights to this location - Nelson Touch does NOT book flights for players
• Players will be provided with a playing singlet and shorts which they will return at the completion of the tournament
• Players will have the opportunity to purchase a Nelson Touch warm up T and hoodie

Nelson Touch Organises/Provides:

• Accomodation for the tournament
• Transport for the tournament e.g. Vans to get to and from the fields
• Food - breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks for the duration of the tournament
• Basic first aid & sunscreen
• Airport pick up/drop off

The above with addition to tournament fees makes up the total cost of the tournament for players + players own flights (if required)

MASTERS

The Touch New Zealand Masters Touch Championships happens in March at the start of every year.

The grades at this tournament are:

• 27 womens, mens, mixed
  
• 30 womens, mens, mixed
• 35 womens, mens, mixed
• 40 womens, mens, mixed
• 45 womens, mens, mixed
• 50 womens, mens, mixed
• 55 womens, mens, mixed
