Youth Nationals is the highest junior representative touch tournament in the country. All provinces around Aotearoa come together to battle for the top titles in Youth Touch. Nelson Touch Association sends an Under 18 mixed team and Under 16 mixed team every year.
Under 16 Mixed
- To be able to trial for the Under 16 mixed team you must be under 16 as of the 31st of December.
- The team is made up of a mixture of 5-6 girls and 9-10 boys
- Trials for this team will be end of October/start of Novemeber every year
- If you cannot attend a trial but wished to be cosidered please email nelsonbaystouch@hotmail.com
- Trainings for the Under 16 mixed team will run over the period of December through to the start of February, if you will be away for a period of this time and therefor will miss multiple trainings it is vital that you let the coaches or Nelson Touch managent know as this may impact your selection.
- If flights are required to attend Youth Nationals, players book their own once the travelling team has been confirmed.
- A Nelson Touch T shirt and Hoodie will be available for purchase
- Nelson Touch playing singlet and shorts will be provided but will be returned upon completion of the tournament
- Touch New Zealand's ruling allows only 14 players to be named per game. We train and compete with 16 players. This means each game requires 2 non-playing players to be named. This is determined by; performance during tournament, opposing teams, and injury and fitnessability. We can not guarantee the quantity of games your child will get.
