Mini Football – Grades 10–13

For children born 2016–2013

Mini Football represents our junior football grades, where players continue to build their skills and understanding of the game in age-appropriate formats. As players move through these grades, the game gradually evolves in size, structure, and tactical complexity — preparing them for full 11v11 football in the future.

Mini Football is played at various locations across the region, with a balance of home and away games throughout the season. This allows players to experience different grounds, build resilience, and enjoy being part of the wider football community.

Grade 10 (Born 2016)

Players continue developing core skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and positioning in a small-sided format (7v7). The focus remains on confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment, while introducing more structured positions and game understanding.

Grade 11 (Born 2015)

At this stage, players refine their technical skills and develop stronger tactical awareness. Games remain in a smaller-sided (7 v7) format to ensure high involvement, plenty of touches on the ball, and continued skill progression in a supportive environment.

Grade 12 (Born 2014)

The game becomes more structured, with increased emphasis on teamwork, positioning, and decision-making. Players are encouraged to understand shape, space, and supporting play as they prepare for the transition toward full-field football. The game is played in 9 v9 format.

Grade 13 (Born 2013)

This is the final stage before moving into full 11v11 football. Players further develop technical consistency, tactical understanding, and overall game awareness. The format bridges the gap between junior small-sided games and the traditional full-sized game, ensuring players feel confident and capable for the next step.

Mini Football continues to prioritise development, enjoyment, and positive coaching — supporting players as they grow not only as footballers, but as confident and connected members of our football community.
