NHCC Summer Criterium Series

UPDATE:

2018-19 NHCC Criterium Series

Owing to a lack of people resources we are currently unable to hold the NHCC Criterium Series due to start at the beginning of November. The Criteriums require a minimum of seven (7) people undertaking the following roles:

1. Registration - minimum 1, preferably 2 people from 5:30pm to 7:00pm

2. Race Manager and Starter - from 6:00pm to 7:45pm

3. Judges - 3 people including starter, from 6:00pm to 7:45pm

4. Course set-up - minimum 1, preferably 2 from 5:00pm to 5:30pm and 7:45pm to 8:00pm (course break-down)

5. Marshalls - minimum 3 preferably 4 (can be the course set-up people), from 6:00pm to 8:00pm

The course set-up role(s) are particularly important as this involves storage, transport to the venue and layout of the criterium advisory signs and traffic cones. Similarly, the marshalling roles are a pre-requisite for safe racing.

If you want the Criterium Series to continue and you believe you can fulfill one or other of the above roles please contact the Club President. There will be an opportunity to discuss the status of the Criterium Series at the Special General Meeting.

Summer Criteriums are held on Tuesday nights at the QBE Albany Stadium.

Situated just off the northern motorway at Albany, the course is a 1.1km circuit round the Stadium.

The Criteriums are great for a quick fast fun training ride with good competition.​​​​​​​

If you're a member of another club you pay just $10 per race OR you can become a member of NHCC (in addition to your primary club) and enjoy the NHCC member rates (see Secondary Club Membership below).

Grades: Racing will be by grade A-D

Registration: At registration you will be asked to show your licence and to provide your contact / emergency contact details.  Registration will start at 5:30pm.

Race Start Time: Racing commences at 6:00pm 

6.00 p.m. Novices / D Grade

6.15 p.m. C Grade

6.35 p.m. B grade

7.00 p.m. A grade

Important Information about Licensing

To participate in the Criterium Series you must be a member of a recognised cycling club and have a valid Cycling NZ licence.

Secondary Club Membership

If you are already a member of a cycling club you can specify and join NHCC as a second club.  This will allow you to enjoy the lower race fees for NHCC members.  To do this log into the Cycling NZ website and on your homepage click on the renew button.
