Are you interested in supporting the future of the New Zealand Black Dragons National Programme?
Expressions of Interest are now open for individuals interested in joining the National Representative Committee (NRC).

The NRC's core role is to provide governance, oversight, and accountability for the New Zealand Black Dragons National Programme, supporting the delivery of national campaigns and ensuring processes are fair, transparent, and aligned with NZDBA requirements.

We are looking for individuals who can bring strong governance, leadership, decision-making, and organisational skills to the role, with a commitment to acting in the best interests of the programme, our wonderful sport and the NZDBA.

ANNOUNCEMENT - 2027 NZDBA NATIONAL DRAGON BOAT CHAMPIONSHIPS! WE'RE HEADING BACK DOWN SOUTH!!

At the Prizegiving and post Nationals celebration, the NZDBA announced that we would be taking Nationals back to the South Island for the first time since 2021!! 

2027 NATIONALS EVENT INFORMATION

*** 2nd and 3rd of April 2027, at Lake Ruataniwha in Twizel ***

It will take a combined effort from our whole Dragon Boating community to make this move but we know we're all up for the challenge! And, what a beautiful location to take our Nationals to!! A destination worth working towards to be sure!!

As we bring the 2026 Dragon Boat Racing season to a close with the completion of our 2026 National Championships Regatta the NZDBA Board would like to thank the National's Organising Committee and all of our volunteers for their tireless and amazing mahi not just during the event itself but also in the months (actually the year) leading up to it. It takes a community to run this event and to run our sport in general. Huge thanks you to you all!
