  • O'Connor Sensei received written confirmation in 2011, that he had been recognised as the next surving senior deshi - student of OSensei Takahashi Kentsu - Soke, to be intrusted with the transmission of Takahashi - ha no Ryūkyū - Shuri te. After the death of Ito Ichiro Shihan 8th Dan in 2006, who was the senior instructor at this time of Takahashi Soke in Japan.

  • O'Connor Sensei, is our principal instructor, who first began his traditional martial arts training in 1962, under the tutelage of OSensei Takahashi - Soke. Studying traditional Ryu Kyu Shuri Te, Okinawan Grappling (Tuite) and the art of Jo Jutsu. In latter years he enrolled in the art of Kawashi Jiu jitsu under the tutelage of Laurie Oliver Sensei - 7th Dan of The South Pacific Jiu Jitsu Society (S.P.J.J.S) where he attained the rank of Nidan.
  • He studied the following traditional arts under; Ito Ichiro - Shihan Hachidan  8th Dan - Japan: Jo jutsu, Takahashi - ha no Ryūkyū - Shuri te Karate Do.
  • Garry O'Connor Hanshi is on The International Board Of Yudansha Kai (established 1964) as a Technical Advisor, preserving the Kojo Ryu Family System,Chibana Ha Shorin Ryu.
  • He shares a humble, but inspiring teaching curriculum with his students, demonstrating his loyalty to his teachers and having dedicated his life-time to the preservation of our traditional art. Teaching with sincere humility, and demonstrtating the upmost respect for all forms of traditional martial arts.
