AW Junior Interclub Meets

Athletics Wellington organises six Interclub track & field meets each season that are open to ALL registered club athletes aged 7-15. Interclubs are held on Sundays throughout the season, at Newtown Park

Interclub meets provide a great opportunity for young athletes to run, jump and/or throw alongside other children from across the Wellington region

Interclubs are a great family day out, a chance for kids to connect and make new friends and compete in a friendly enviroment

Interclub details

  • Athletes keen to participate in interclubs need to complete a one off registration to compete. There will be a charge associated with this for the 2024/25 season.
  • Interclub meets start at 9am and finish around 3pm (you can choose to be there only for the events you want to participate in)
  • Athletes need to wear their club uniform
  • Athletes will also need to wear their age flash (with their registration number recorded on it). Age flashes can be collected from the function room at the athletes first interclub meet.
  • Spikes can be worn by athletes in grade 10 and older - maximum length is 6-7mm for track and 9mm for High Jump.
  • Each athlete competing earns points that count towards Interclub trophies that are awarded at the end of the season
  • Our Club is responsible for running the High Jump at each interclub. We rely on parent volunteers, so don't be shy, get involved!

Registration

The one off season registrations for AW interclubs will open ahead of the first interclub each season (October/November). This is separate to your registration with PTFC. You only need to register once to compete in all interclub events. Season entries must be completed by 11:59pm on the Wednesday prior to any Interclub meet
