Alana Barber clipped two seconds off her New Zealand National 20km race walk record in finishing 26th in 1:32:48. Barber has now gone under the B performance selection standard for the Rio Olympic Games of 1:33:00 twice within the qualifying period.

Quentin Rew also finished 26th in men’s 20km race walk and also eclipsed his New Zealand National record of 1:22:11 set in Melbourne in December 2014. Rew, who has been selected for the Rio Olympics in the 50km race walk, recorded 1:21:54.

Jamie Shaw was 51st in the 10km race walk in 48:15

Laura Langley was 45th in the women’s 10km race walk in 52:53.
