HBC Patrol Boats

HBC has a number of different Patrol and Coach boats that support our sailing events, ensuring the safety of all on the water, and the smooth running of each event.

HBC 1

Purchased in 2005, HBC 1 is purpose-built by Naiad to help support our sailing events. HBC 1 is used as a coach boat midweek and on Saturday mornings but also as a committee boat for our Saturday afternoon racing. She has recently had her pontoons replaced in 2024 with the financial help of NZCT, extending the lifespan of this boat.

HBC 2

HBC 2 is the workhorse of the club. Just about any time we have dinghies on the water, HBC 2 is right there alongside them. Built in 2016 by Wavebreak, HBC 2 has given the club 10 years of service and thanks to a new 30hp outboard in 2023, many more years to come. Whether it's mark laying, coaching or rescuing, HBC 2 is our go-to boat.

HBC 3

HBC 3 is a Southern Pacific tiller steer regularling used in our junior coaching. This boat is primarily used as a coaching RIB, but is also capable of mark laying and supporting racing events.

HBC 4

HBC 4 is the newest boat in our fleet, being delivered to the club in late 2025.  Due to its small size, and excellent maneuverability it is perfect for use during Learn to Sail courses, where it can usually be found working alongside HBC2.
