Our adult learn-to-sail instruction is for those with little or no sailing experience

The programme consists of six lessons held on Saturday mornings from 9.00am-12.00pm. The first intake will finish by Christmas, with a second intake to follow.  While the main focus will be on practical sailing and be mostly on-the-water there will also be some theory and homework.

Three critical things you'll learn:
Balancing - keeping the boat from tipping over too much
Steering - pointing the boat in the direction you want to go
Using the wind - putting the sail in the right spot to make the boat move.

Once you have finished your initial course you will have access to the club Fevas and be encouraged to sail in the afternoons.

Please contact adult.instruction@sailhbc.org.nz or follow the link from the Contact page if you would like more information or to register your interest for our first course starting 20 September.

Note that we have a small number of instructors and the size of each intake limited.
