COLGATE GAMES 2025
Below you will find information about the North Island and South Island events, which will be hosted in Auckland and Dunedin. We encourage you to share this information with your club mates and invite them to follow the North Island and South Island Colgate Games events on Facebook for regular updates. The events are being organised by Athletics Auckland and Athletics Otago with support from Athletics New Zealand.
ABOUT THE COLGATE GAMES
For those new to athletics here is a quick summary of the Colgate Games:
There are two Colgate Games events every January – one in the North Island and one in the South Island
- Athletes aged 7-14 years registered with any athletics club are able to attend either event
Event Format:
- The games run from Friday morning through to Sunday afternoon – with relays being the last events of each day
- On the Friday morning there is an Opening Ceremony and Marchpast
- Children wear their club uniforms which can be hired for a small cost
- Athletes can enter up to five events plus relays

7-9 years Events: 60m, 100m, 200m, Long Jump, Discus, Shotput.
10-14 years Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Hurdles (12-14 only), Racewalk, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw
Format Divisions for Grades 7-9. Heats, Semis (for some events), Finals for Grades 10-14
Results Posted online and at the stadium only for Grades 10-14
Awards Pennants for 1st 2nd and 3rd in each division for Grades 7-9. Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Finalist ribbons for all finalists for Grades 10-14.
Relays 4x100m for Grades 7-9. 4x100m and Mixed Medley for Grades 10-14.
ENTRIES are OPEN now but you must be a registered member of a club that is affiliated to Athletics NZ (which Levin Athletics Club is).

Officials and Volunteers
The host Centres will need officials and volunteers to assist us to run both the North Island and South Island Colgate Games events. If you are able to help in any capacity we would appreciate this. In particular they will be looking for:
VOLUNTEERS
Please see specific details below on volunteer roles:
- Runners – help move groups of children around different events; good for older siblings who have to be there with you all day anyway.
- Merchandise shop – assist in selling Colgate Games merchandise
- Gate entry – provide entry passes to spectators

Colgate T-Shirts should be pre-purchased to guarantee getting your size. A limited number will be available to purchase at the Games.
