The name  Hayden Ryan is synonymous with one-day cricket at the 'noa. Having played 121 matches and been a part of three winning teams, Hayden always delivers and has built a reputation as a miserly bowler regularly conceding the least runs per over.

Such exceptional bowlers are rarely seen nowadays. Even international bowlers like Jesse Ryder have tried to mould themselves on his style, but he (Jesse)  bowls too many yorkers to pull off the Hayden style effectively.

A batting form slump at one stage by the 'noa forced Hayden to take his batting more seriously, and he switched from being a bowler who can bat, into being a bowler that is also a batsman.

As a captain, after shaking off  the shadow of his father Lance (whose popularity within his own club was in no way mirrored by the opposition), he has proven to be an astute tactitian attaining the club record for consecutive wins.

The team have thrived under Hayden's firm but unforced approach, particularly the "flair" players among the squad who have been frozen by that intense glare and sharp tongue (no wonder he is an ex world debating champion).
