Uniforms

  • Every player is issued with a top and shorts/knickers.
  • T-Ball teams may be asked to supply their own black shorts.
  • Players supply their own undershirts (white), socks (white) and belts (green).  These will be available from the Club, as soon as the Committee establishes a supply of these.
  • Players can only wear the registered Club uniform on the Diamond, no other tops, hoodies, jackets, caps etc.
  • Uniforms are only to be worn at games and are to be taken off straight after the game, they are not to be worn elsewhere.
  • Players cannot wear their uniform in licensed premises.
  • Players are expected to look after their uniform and wash it regularly.
  • At the end of the season ALL players must hand their uniform in to their Team Manager (or Coach where there is no Team Manager) after the last game.
  • If players want to buy their own knickers, they can provided these are purchased from the Committee, we must keep uniformity.  The Committee reserves right to tell a player they need to replace their knickers if not kept to reasonable standard.
  • Any team that may have Sponsorship for uniforms must come through the Softball Committee in the first instance to ensure the sponsor is appropriate.
  • Any uniforms purchased must be in the new style as we are aiming to maintain uniformity across all teams.
  • All uniforms must be purchased from the Club supplier- teams cannot approach the supplier direct, they must work through the Softball Committee.
  • Members cannot arrange their own merchandising or self-done apparel with Club name or logo, without obtaining approval from the Softball Committee, and then only provided it does not undermine the new apparel range the Committee is currently working to establish.
  • Teams wanting team shirts etc. must come through the Softball Committee for approval BEFORE they are purchased.

Gear

  • Every team is supplied with a fully equipped gear bag
  • We do not supply batting gloves, gloves/mitts, or boxes/protectors for male catchers as these are considered personal items.
  • Players can supply their own batting helmets, catcher’s gear or bats provided they are to the required NZSA standard. Note umpires do check gear and if not to standard you will not be able to use it.
  • Gear is expensive to replace,  we have a lot of teams to kit out and at approx. $3000 per gear bag we need to look after the gear we have and make it last as long as possible. All gear is to be treated with respect at all times- do NOT throw Bats or Helmets, if seen doing this you may be fined, or billed for the replacement cost of an item you have broken.

First Aid

  • Every Team is issued with a first aid kit. If necessary we do have spare stock in store to top up- see Janette.
  • The Club does not supply strapping tape, cold spray or sunblock these are considered personal items.

Trainings

Training times are set by the Team Coach for each team, but the majority of  our teams train on a Wednesday night.

Trainings are generally held at the Club grounds, Spreydon Domain.

Aside from any training held by team coaches, and the clinics offered by the CSA:

  • We run winter trainings for players.
  • We use our network contacts to run sessions on rules, scoring, umpiring, fitness sessions etc.
  • Senior players support and mentor junior players & teams.
