Upon application and consideration, a contestable $5,000 Annual Scholarship fund to be awarded to one or more athlete(s) who must meet the eligibility criteria.

Purpose

To celebrate and support a talented dedicated athlete who is excelling and achieving at a given sport, by way of a financial contribution to assist with the goals and commitments necessary to enhance and elevate the motivated athlete’s abilities to the next level.

Age Range             13 – 18 Years

Requirements

• Currently living in the Taupo District and have been for more than 2 years
• Attends/attended a Taupo school for more than 2 years
• Provide tangible evidence of a strong commitment to your chosen sport(s), which will reference photos, videos, social media posts, website and media articles etc.
• Provide a full curriculum vitae, which will also include the support network and associations with individuals and organisations who are involved in your sporting journey
• Provide two 6 x monthly updates on your sporting pathway including challenges and successes
• Promote SAC/Sports Foundation Trust when and wherever possible

Eligibility Criteria

1. Be currently playing at an elite level in a chosen sport with a proven success record
2. Candidate must be competing at provincial, national or international level or have been ID’d at a national level e.g., Selected for national training camps or wider squad selection
3. Have an involvement in school, club, community or sporting activity such as coaching refereeing, leadership or mentoring
4. Provide evidence of support from National body of chosen sport

• Sporting equipment
• Coaching fees
