To celebrate and acknowledge Taupo sportspeople who have achieved at the highest level, Lake Taupo District Sports Advisory Council is privileged to display and promote a "WALL OF FAME" situated at the AC Baths complex.

WALL OF FAME - CRITERIA

Athletes (professional or amateur)

will have:

• been born and/or schooled in the Taupō district.

Officials* (professional or amateur)

will have:

• been born and/or schooled in the Taupō district or
• lived in the Taupō district for a minimum of 20 years when selected.

Level of achievement

all individuals will have:

• competed or officiated at an open level of competition i.e. no age group representation.

• represented New Zealand at an Olympic Games or Paralympic Games
• represented New Zealand at a World Championships during non-Olympic Games years at the time of competition.
• represented New Zealand at a World Championship when competing in a non-Olympic sport.

*Officials includes coaches, referees, adjudicators, judges, umpires, managers, medical support and administrators**.

** Administrators who are supporting sport at an international level will be considered.

Consideration will also be given to athletes and officials who were born and schooled in Taupō and have represented a country other than New Zealand.
