Nelson Heat Baseball Club was established in 2016 by a team of passionate ball players, including former Black Sox Marty Grant.

Nelson Heat prides itself on providing baseball to all ages, levels of player from teeball to senior secondary school players.

In its opening seasons Nelson Heat teams won South Island tournaments, placed at national tournaments, had players chosen for NZ age group teams, and taken NZ awards for top players and coaches.​​​​​​​

Its members have established a community of passionate ball players, volunteers and supporters who enjoy the game on the field and from the sidelines.
