Te Hiringa i te Mahara   -  Remember to always keep reaching!!

Our Cultural Narrative - Designed by local artist Chantze Rohe

WHAKAPUNAKE

The iconic shape of Whakapunake maunga is suggested in this kowhaiwhai. Whakapunake shows us to stand strong at our best, always.

RONGOMAIWAHINE

The kowhaiwhai "Koiri" refers to whakapapa and growth. As our ariki tapairu Rongomaiwahine shaped and grew our Iwi.

TAKITIMU

This is a variation off a kowhaiwhai (yet to be acknowledged) found upon Takitimu wharenui, Waihirere Marae. The marae is near a landing/barging point of Takitimu waka on the riverside - Mākeakea

KAHUNGUNU

This symbolised in the form of the kowhaiwhai "Rauru" that refers to everlasting ties and bounds. Growing potential amongst our people in the way our people know.
