Welcome to the Northland Volleyball Website
Northland Volleyball Association is affiliated to Volleyball New Zealand. It has limited competitive adult playing numbers. The focus for Northland Volleyball is on "growing the game" through community volleyball opportunities and youth engagement through regional development sessions and schools competitions. Social playing opportunities are run each year in both indoor and outdoor, grass and beach, venues in a range of communities. In addition competitive teams can enter Northern Zone League and play in Auckland based competitions during the season from July to September followed by the National Club championships in October each year. IPC teams at Youth U19 and U17 levels are often selected to compete in the IPC held annually at a venue in the North Island in June. Beach Volleyball is run at a recreational and AA level during the summer months at a range of beaches in Northland.

School & Youth Programmes:
Volleyball Northland runs a junior and secondary schools competition to cater for the large interest in schools. Senior Secondary Schools (Year 11-13) competitions are held in term 1 February - April, While junior secondary schools Year 7-10) competitions are held in Term 4 October - November. Regional Representative youth teams (U17 and U19) are selected to enter the IPC (Inter Provincial Championships) tournaments held in June in Wellington.

Development Programmes
Volleyball development programmes offer regular camps, training clinics though out the year targeting youth and new to volleyball players.
Development training squads are established each year and train with senior team players.
Beach squad and beach camps:
During the year beach training continues under the eye of our Beach Development Officers Tarquala Whittaker-Stone and Sienna Munford Stokes Youth squads are selected and trained to take part in national tournaments in January/February
Events / Tournaments:
Volleyball Northland hosts a number of secondary school based tournament during the schools competition season and other single day events as part of their Northern Zone League requirements.
A competitive l;eague is being developed to cater for the more competitive players
Social Community level
Community Volleyball is offered in a range of communities. This is often in association with other providers (Community Connect - Pumanawa Awhina.
Recreational tournaments and social leagues are gaining in popularity are held at a range of venues
Coach/Officials Education:
Coaching Courses are held to align with the VNZ Coach Development Framework
Referee courses are held annually at both Local and Regional level.
