FORMAT

The format is competitive pairs format to assist teams prepare for the national SS beach Volleyball Championships in Mount Maunganui in December

TIME ALLOCATION

10.00am - 2.30pm

COST

$15.00 per pair/team - Affiliated Schools

$20.00 per pair/team - Non-Affiliated Schools

All  events are an opportunity for students to represent their school and ‘have a go’ at playing volleyball outdoors on sand courts.  The competition will provide  opportunities to play in a team of four or in a pair 

Year 7 & 8s: Mixed teams ONLY (boys and girls) of four with two substitutes.  Two girls and two boys must always be on the court.  Team entries per school may be limited, please contact SSEC if you have more than four teams.

Year 9 & 10s: Mixed teams ONLY (boys and girls) of four playing with two substitutes.  Two girls and two boys must be always on the court. Team entries per school may be limited, please contact SSEC if you have more than four teams.

Year 9 & 10 Pairs

Competitive pairs format in both boys’ and girls’ divisions

At both tournaments, all teams will get the same number of games.

These are not Championship events.

DUTY/OFFICIALS

All schools are required to do Duty.  There needs to be one teacher/parent/adult per team present at the venue for the length of the event.  They will be required to help officiate games as part of the team duty.

EQUIPMENT

Schools are expected to supply their teams with their own volleyball.  

Teams must wear approved school sport uniforms. Schools must provide their own sunshade or gazebo. Hats and sunscreen are highly recommended.

HEALTH & SAFETY

All schools are expected to have completed their relevant EOTC and Health & Safety requirements necessary for participation at these events.

Schools must supply their teams with a First Aid Kit that includes strapping tape.  Ice will be available if needed.

The event Health & Safety register must be completed for any injuries sustained by players that occur as a result of participating in these events and/or accidents that occur at the playing venue.​​​​​​​

FOOD/REFRESHMENTS               

Schools are responsible for ensuring their teams have their own refreshments snacks, lunch and drinking water.
