SportsForce​

SportsForce is a programme managed by Sport Waikato and funded by Trust Waikato. SportsForce Development Officers are employed by their sport to help make sport happen by working with volunteers to recruit train and retain....

SportsForce commenced in 1999 and aims to increase participation in sport by building a large base of committed and active volunteers. SportsForce is a partnership between Sport Waikato and regional sporting organisations which allows major sporting codes to employ regional development officers to develop and grow their suppor'ts volunteer base.

The SportsForce project works very well for Waikato Golf Association and is reflected in the financial results as well as the successful tournaments that we are able to conduct. The other area, which is a little more difficult to measure is the training of administrators but certainly the number of workshops we conduct as well as the regular club briefings means that many of our clubs are better administrated than in the past and we believe Waikato Golf supported by SportsForce can take some credit for this. Communications between Waikato Golf Association and member clubs has improved significantly over the years due largely to the emphasis of SportsForce.

The SportsForce project reaches throughout the greater Waikato region, including King Country and Thames Valley and now includes 16 codes:
