About Us

We provide an affordable sporting opportunity for our community, working hard to keep registration fees low so that all families and children can participate.

We field football teams across the Tararua and Manawatū regions, catering for all age groups. Our club delivers the New Zealand Football Junior Framework, offering a positive, structured introduction to football for families and players aged 4 years and up.

We are proudly affiliated with Central Football, who support us in delivering quality football experiences within our community.

Each season we typically run:

  • Two 7-a-side teams

  • Two 9-a-side teams

  • One youth teamin the Tararua Hub, as well as:

  • One men’s team

  • One women’s teamcompeting in Manawatū grades.

We are passionate about promoting sport through football and encouraging families and supporters to be involved on game days. WAFC has become a key part of the small Woodville community, providing a place where people can connect, make friends, stay active, and grow together.

The club is run entirely by dedicated volunteers (currently a committee of nine). We promote fair play, teamwork, social skills, and active movement, and are deeply committed to making sport accessible regardless of a family’s socio-economic background.
