Dunedin Branch Pony Club

Certificates:

NZPCA certificates are at the core of the Pony Club system, they provide incentive to learn and encourage improvement of all riders. Certificates range from the Lead Rein Riders Achievement card through to the A and H Certificates.

Every rider has a record card so they can track their progress and see what needs to be worked on. The instructor marks your card as you achieve particular tasks. These can be viewed anytime throughout rallies.

Each rider is encouraged to purchase the NZPCA Manuals that are relevant to the level they are working at as they are an important resource for certificate work and general equestrian information. These can be purchased from The Saddlery Warehouse or from the NZPCA website.

The Head Coach is responsible for ensuring members meet the eligibility criteria as set by the NZPCA before sitting their exams. This includes confirming that riders have met the rules for rally attendance and that the record cards reflect that all required work has been covered and marked off correctly.

Candidates are expected to present themselves on time and in Formal Pony club turnout to sit their exams. Candidates from C level and up are expected to present with their mounts plaited. All riders sitting certificates must  help with certificate day set up.  This is generally the morning of or the evening before.

It is customary to present your examiner with a small token of thanks for their time they have taken to examine you e.g. a card/chocolate.
