WAIKATO / BAY OF PLENTY CHILDREN'S INDIVIDUAL & RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Porritt Stadium - Saturday & Sunday 14-15th March, 2026

The culmination of a seasons hard work is the Children's Champs. This is where athletes put into practice what they've been working on all season and strive for excellence in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty.

This season is a little different with the individual champs and relay champs being trialed as a combined event over one championship weekend.

A few things to note on the Champs:

• Any club members (7-14 Year Old groups) can enter;
• PRE-ENTRY is essential. THERE WILL BE NO LATE ENTRIES!;
• There is a maximum of 5 individual events per athlete (note this change, as this was previously 4 events);
• Please select 5 events carefully. Whilst changes are possible, administratively they can be onerous and lead to issues and confusion on competition day;
• For athletes 10+, please note if you are doing 3 track events, they cannot be the 400m, 800m and 1,500m combination (this rule does not appear to be applicable this season 2025/26);
• All rules for 2026 will be attached when they become available, please read and understand them to avoid any confusion;
• The Order of Events is draft only. There may be minor timetable amendments made once entries close and athlete numbers are known.

The club will compile relay teams once individual entries have been confirmed.

Please be aware parents that we will need contribute to the running of the weekend so parent support in this respect will be expected in order to facilitate the smooth running of tasks. Our club will most likley be assigned manning a long jump pit or throwing circle for the weekend and we will operate a roster system for assigning resource.
