Our new international-standard hockey facility is located at Rosedale Park West, just 2km from our former home at Rosedale Park South. It is the competition and training base for all North Harbour Hockey’s clubs, schools and regional programmes, as well as the training base for the Vantage Black Sticks and home of Hockey New Zealand’s high performance programme. This places a local, regional and international spotlight firmly on North Harbour among Hockey enthusiasts and athletes.


Built to international standards


The National Hockey Centre has the following facilities:


  • Five new water-based artificial hockey turfs.
  • A two-storey pavilion, with clubrooms, changing rooms and member facilities for our hockey community and other users
  • Covered seating overlooking two turfs - 450 seats for Turf 1 and a further 50 seats for Turf 2
  • LED floodlighting on all four turfs, with additional lighting on Turf 1 for televised international events
  • 370 car parks

A new path and footbridge across the Alexandra Stream connects the main National Hockey Centre which has four turfs, with its fifth turf at Rosedale Park North, as well as providing access to additional car parks plus the football and softball facilities.  


Home of the Vantage Black Sticks


As well as continuing to deliver programmes and competitions for everyone from primary school students through to masters, and hosting national and international events, the centre is the new training base for the Vantage Black Sticks and home for Hockey New Zealand’s high performance programme.  We are privileged to have so many Black Sticks playing for our clubs and coaching our teams as well as the opportunity to watch the teams train at Harbour.
