HALSWELL RUGBY LEAGUE NETBALL CLUB - Players’ Code of Conduct

This document is for the benefit of all players who wish to be a part of the Halswell Rugby League Netball Club.  Its purpose is to ensure all members are aware of their responsibility towards their fellow club and team members and realise the values and rules that are agreed upon are for the good of all.
At the start of trainings, all players will be asked to sign that they have read, understood and agree to this Code of Conduct and a copy of this document will be given to you.  For players under the age of 18, we will ask that a parent, guardian or caregiver sign as well.
Purpose:

Play equally hard for yourself and your team.  Your team’s performance will benefit and so will you:

  • Treat players as you would like to be treated;
  • Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another player;
  • Control your temper, any verbal abuse or deliberate contact.  Abusive behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated;
  • Play according to the rules of netball and the principles of fair play;
  • Never argue with an umpire.  Their decisions are final.  If you have any concerns about an umpire, talk to your coach and follow the correct procedure;
  • Be a good sport, cheer all good play from both your team and the opposition;
  • Appreciate and cooperate with your coach, team mates and officials.  There would be no game without them;
  • Take responsibility for your performance on and off the court;
  • Do not interfere with the progress and/or conduct of a game;
  • Honesty and cooperation with all team members;
  • Care for your uniform and return it at the end of the season clean and in the good condition you received it;
  • Assist in fundraising and office, umpiring and shop duties when required;
  • If you are injured during the season or away for an extended period, then you agree this will affect your selection and position on court during competition games.
