Teams representing their schools from around the country compete at regional qualification tournaments to earn entry to the New Zealand Canoe Polo Schools Championships. The top teams from each of the qualification events are eligible to contest in the following grades:
Senior Schools - U19 Division 1 Open, U19 Division 1 Girls, U19 Division 2 Open.
Junior Schools - Year 9 & 10 Division 1 Open, Year 9 & 10 Division 1 Girls, Year 9 & 10 Division 2 Open (dispensation requests for schools who offer year 7-8 education* please see school sport criteria).
