REMBUDEN KILBIRNIE KARATE

Dojo Etiquette

Students are to stand and Bow at the door to the Dojo before entering.

If joining the class after it has commenced, they are to stand at the edge and await the invitation of the Instructor to come on and train. If the Instructor has not seen them, they should make their presence known by saying aloud "Osu", and bowing at the same time.

If an Instructor gives advice to an individual student, they are to acknowledge this advice with either "Hai Sensei" or "Hai Sempai", whichever the case may
be.

Students are to address their seniors as Sempai, whenever advice is given or requested.

The title of Sensei is reserved for the Head of the Dojo when he is present during class. Lower ranks must address seniors by their title, and not their names.

For Direction/Vocabulary or Opening/Closing Ceremony, click "Terminology" on the Menu bar above and select whichever is required.
