Saddleview Pony Club has new grounds - a place to call home!
Thanks to the dedication and hard work of the Saddleview Pony Club committee, along with the support of the Saddlehill Community Board, DCC Parks & Recreation personnel and some long-standing supporters, we have secured a long term lease of approximately 3.5 hectares at Miller Park - Green Island.
The grounds are nestled directly below the car park of the GI Rugby Club's junior top fields, with float access to the grounds, via a lower access road from Christie Street (opposite John Street). The main riding area has a lovely outlook over Green Island with views to Saddle Hill, in staying true to our name Saddleview.
We are very excited to get up and running to be able to provide a community-based club to the Greater Green Island area. Once we have completed a few working bees and tidied up some fences, we will also be able to offer some grazing spaces to Saddleview Pony Club members, making pony club more accessible, especially to those who may not have floats or grazing nearby.
