OUR BEGINNINGS: In April 1928 there was a move afoot to break away from the Canterbury Croquet Association - the clubs south of the Rakaia River were to break away. On July 18th 1928 a meeting was held in Timaru to form the South Canterbury Croquet Association. It was agreed, for financial reasons, that the official first year would begin on 1st July 1928.
