Please note the CSC Open event will also be played this week and note the Mens and Womens events will not be held.

Playing conditions at the Aorangi Club lawns for this tournament were excellent. The lawns were  very hard and fast evidence of the hot dry conditions that South Canterbury has been subjected to this summer. Hoops were set very tight. All grades coped very well with the conditions as most club lawns in the area are also hard and fast.
However the nor'west wind which blew very hard after lunch on Wednesday and on Thursday added another dimension to the play, as the ball was coming to rest the wind would carry it on, in some cases a further 7-10 yards; which possibly accounts for some of the low scores in the event.

Event One Winner Barbara Field (Allenton)
