COMMITTEE

Description:

To implement and carry out duties as delegated. Upholds the Clubs values, actively encourages membership, offers ideas for monthly speakers, events etc. Supports all Members of the Committee and their positions where appropriate. An elected member of the Committee

Duties:

  • Will be present at Committee meetings to assist the executive with the competent running of the club
  • Will assist Members who have volunteered for tasks in the Club, to carry out their duties.
  • Assist with Greeting New people at Club Meetings and Functions.


MEMBERSHIP CO-ORDINATOR

Description:

Promotes the Southland Tramping & Outdoor Recreation Club to potential new Members. Offers support and encouragement via personal contact on a one-to-one basis. Follows up enquiries, and offers assistance to get potential new Members to meetings. Provides a friendly and welcoming point of contact for the club. Is appointed by the Club committee from within the committee.

Duties:

  • Arrive early to Club meetings (7.15 ideally) to meet and greet.
  • To be the face of the Club to new and prospective Members.
  • Makes new Members and Visitors into the Club meetings and functions welcome and if necessary ask other Club Members to assist if required or unable to attend.
  • Send an email the first week after the meeting, acknowledging meeting them at the meeting and suggest a tramp for that month.
  • Will follow-up where possible any potential avenues for new membership and report to the Committee when required, on matters pertaining to membership.
  • Encourages new members to go out on tramps and ensures in conjunction with the Trip Leader and Club Captain, that they are choosing a suitable first outing.
  • Keep track of Prospective Members and advises by email to check website for coming events they may take part in and encourage them to become financial members of the Club.
  • Follow up with a Welcome Pack when the prospective new member becomes a Financial Member.
  • Distribute FMC cards to Financial Members when received from Secretary.
