Squash Auckland HP Programme 2018

Following on from a successful 2017 season where our Auckland Masters and Junior Boys teams took out national titles, the guidelines for our High Performance programme during the 2018 has just been released.  The major representative events for 2018 will be;

Junior Quadrangular: 23-25 March @ Whangarei Squash Club
Senior Inter-District Teams Nationals: 31 August-1 September @ Panmure Squash Club
Masters Inter-District Teams Nationals: 17-18 September @ Devoy Squash & Fitness Tauranga
Junior Inter-District Teams Nationals: 8-10 October @ North Shore Squash Club

The programme will once again include the Junior Regional Squads which will begin with a free open muster (trial) for all juniors under 17 years of age at three clubs across Auckland on Saturday 17th February.  Times, venues, and registration details will be released for these later in the week.  Each regional squad is scheduled six training camps throughout the season that will culminative in a regional tournament on Saturday November 10.

The full Auckland Junior squads will train three times during the season.  This will include the Future Stars (U11/U13), Development (U15/U17), and Elite (Junior Nationals) Squads.  Players will be invited to attend these squads around May.

Dates and expectations for players looking to be involved in these squads, plus the Auckland Senior and Masters teams, are included in the programme.

The Auckland Open for 2018 has been bought forward to the 3-5 March and will be held at the Remuera Rackets Club.  The tournament will also be a WSF Closed Satellite event, meaning players registered with the PSA have the ability to earn ranking points.  We are also excited to be hosting the Auckland Junior Open at SquashXL from 25-27 May, where it will be run in conjunction with a Women's PSA event being played at the club at the same time giving our junior players a fantastic opportunity to see professional players in action.

We look forward to another successful season on the court and seeing our junior pathways encourage more players to take up squash as their sport of choice.
