As players and umpires enter this phase they should be considering developing and maintaining the following:

The "NetballSmart Preseason Preparation Programme" resource supports all Netball players/umpires with a programme to prepare for Netball. Included is a weekly calendar to help you to plan your preparation. Grow your physical capacity, fitness and strength, core and balance using this four to six week programme so you are ready for the Netball when it starts and also to support your game play during the season. In addition exercising regularly helps with overall health and mental wellbeing.

The programme has been developed for the Secondary School players in mind but is a useful resource that can be used for all Netball players/umpires who want to prepare well for a season and get the most out of their Netball.
