Coach - William Collins

Has always had great passion for coaching from an early age and a love of giving back to the sport, so he began coaching for Karori Junior Hockey club in his Year 9 (2016). He was appointed as a coach for the Karori Premier 1 Boys team in 2017 and has coached that team ever since. Willaim has also worked as a selector and cohort lead for KJHC over the past few years. At Wellington College he has been the co-coach of the 2nd XI last season, and previously was the coach of the 4th XI in 2018 and 2019. In 2019 William  was a selector and trainer for the Wellington U13 and U15 rep boys, and last year was a tournament coach for the Wellington U13 boys. William has also work for MX Hockey as a contracted coach, and work for Wellington Hockey as a community coach. While he dose thoroughly enjoy playing hockey, he absolutely loves coaching and is extremely excited for the year ahead, especially for the chance to work with such a talented group of players. William believes in a coaching style that is centred around the person at the heart of the athlete, is development-oriented, and results in forming a strong community/brotherhood.
