What to Have in Your Kit Bag

For a swimmer who is just starting to train, they will need their own swimming attire, goggles, swimming cap, water bottle and a towel. Please ensure swimmers have spare goggles and caps to minimise any interruption to training due to equipment failure.

Caps

The club will provide all new members with a free club swimming cap. Additional caps are available to purchase for $15, please ask the coach when you require one.

Drink Bottles

All swimmers should bring at least one drink bottle to training, water is fine and remember to clean them regularly. We do not encourage sharing of drink bottles.

Training Equipment

From time to time, the coaches will run sets which require equipment such as kickboards and pull-buoys. Where ever possible the club will provide such equipment, but swimmers may wish to purchase the equipment for themselves. If they do, Rebel Sports stock some of the equipment used and there are a number of online sites that sell the required gear. We have found Swim T3 (www.swimt3.co.nz ) and Teamline (www.teamline.co.nz) to be good NZ sites with an easy return policy.

Please speak to the coaches before making any purchase, and you may like to also seek feedback from other swimmers and parents on the reliability/suitability/sizing of any equipment for your swimmer.
