Red Squad (Train to Compete)
Swimmers normally progress into this squad from Blue squad, though swimmers of suitable ability can move directly into this squad after an assessment by an Aquahawks coach. This is a competitive, age-group squad where training & competitive load increases and swimmers begin learning the habits & behaviours required to train and compete at a higher level. Swimmers are focused on the development of race skills and ensuring they have the required fitness, technique, and skills to compete. Over time in this squad swimmers will be taught:

Competitions
Swimmers must attend Club Nights, Annual Club Championships and the Napier Port Ocean Swim. This is a competitive group where swimmers begin targeting HBPB Summer/Winter Championships and depending on age: Aquaknights Jr Festival, AIMS Games, or Div II Championships.
