Coach: Luis Luna
We are extremely fortunate to have a world-class coach facilitating our Tennis Club this year. Luis is currently Head Coach at the Tauranga Lawn Tennis Club.
Luis Luna is a former Mexico National Junior Team coach who also had the responsibility of training and certifying coaches. He has coached and mentored some of New Zealand's top junior tennis players and has been awarded Coach and High-Performance Coach of the Year in the Bay of Plenty for multiple years.
After taking up a US Scholarship at the age of 12, his personal early teenage experiences and success as a player includes dueling with Andre Agassi at the US Hardcourt Championship and a memorable defeat of eventual world number one, Jim Courier.
Available to:
Orange and Green ball players only. Maximum 20 students.
Dates and Duration:
Six-week programme, starting Week 1 Term 2.
Day, Time and Location:
Thursday lunchtime on the turf.
What to wear:
Students must change into their PE gear (promptly) and wear appropriate sports shoes and socks.
Fees:
$80 per student per term. Registration per term is required via the below form. Registrations close Friday 3 May or when the club is full.
