Welcome to Clarks Beach Bowling Club

1991: The first bar license was approved. The playcentre make use of the old club house after a few alterations.
Later in October 1991 Tom Boyd was elected as President. There was also discussion on a change in the Constitution to over come the confusion with having ladies President and Men's President and overall Club president

1993:  Amalgamation of Ladies and Men's was
discussed. Ladies section meeting discussed what was expected regarding dress lenght and wearing of jewellery. Delegates report states for centre championships a "Doctors Certificate" be required if wishing to wear slacks.

June 1997:  New Constitution - Ladies President  abolished.

2002:      Another Building
Mr Bill Osborne a club member offered a double garage to be used as storage for machinery as well as a workshop and storage for the greens chemicals . Removing the building caused a drama by slipping off the transporter and coming to rest across the footpath on Torkar Road.
Comments made suggested it would make a good bus stop shelter. However after it was sited it has proven to be a very necessary asset for the club. The old bowls room and workshop at the end of the club house was demolished making room for the next project.

2003:    An extension to the club house in the form of a lounge room made possible by a $30,000. ASB Grant. Major assistance from Tom Boyd's son-in-law Jessie Kingsford and Father Rex,including club members brought about a very comfortable room for sociaising in as we see it today.
It was officially opened in September 2003 by Ian McDougal an ASB Bank Representative. Upgrading and improving the club assets has continued with the help of club volunteers.

2014: Very recently Auckland Council made $28,000 available for a feasibility study towards planning for a sports complex at Clarks Beach to include our club. This would ensure our Bowling Club would be part of the Future development at Clarks Beach
