EVENTING

At Clyde PC our eventers are lucky in the resources available for training:

  • The Dunstan Equestrian Centre arena is available to use for a small fee for dressage and show jump training and is booked via the DEC Sporty page.
  • The Clyde PC cross country course on Letts Gully Rd is available to use free of charge for Clyde PC members. A family code is emailed to all members annually to book this via the Bookings tab.






SPRINGSTON TROPHY

Springston Trophy is Pony Club's South Island Eventing championship and branch teams have been competing for the prestegious Springston Trophy annually since 1971. It is hosted by a different South Island club each year and the event runs over four days in the September school holidays.

There is also a trophy awarded for the best horsemastership shown by a team during the event and the Clyde team was thrilled to win this in 2024.

NOMINATING FOR THIS EVENT What you need to know:

  • The team is made up of 4 - 6 riders covering three age group class heights, with up to two riders in each height and a minimum of 1 rider in each height.

  • Senior 105cm - 24 years and under; Intermediate 95 cm - 17 years and under; Junior 80cm - 14 years and under.

  • The age of the rider is at August 1st of that year.

  • You must be competing competently in events at the height you are nominating at. If you are unsure about this, talk to the head coach.

  • Expression of interest forms will be found here in May.

  • To be eligable, riders must be a current NZPCA member snad have met the NZPCA Rally Attendance Rule (15.4)

  • Entries are done as a branch. Please also read the Clyde Team Selection process and Team policy for further information and financial committments.

Springston Trophy 2025 is being hosted by Blenheim Pony Club at the Marlborough Equestrian Park, Blenheim.
