MOUNTED GAMES
Mounted games is some of the best fun you can have on your pony!!
Clyde Pony Club has a strong history of excellence in mounted games, with a number of riders going on to compete at national and international level.
Our coaches work hard to ensure all interested riders are encouraged to learn about mounted games and develop their skills. This includes super games coach Wayne Harrex.
Mounted Games are competed in as teams, pairs or individuals, depending on the competition. Games teams consist of 4 - 5 riders all competing on the pitch as a team. Don't worry if you don't have a buddy to compete with, organisers can always help out.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
For the rider.....
A yellow tagged helemt.
Suitable riding foorwear - jodphur boots are great as you need to be able to run as well as ride.
No helmet cover required, as these are provided at the competition.
Remove all jewellery.
For the pony.....
A snaffle bit.
If using reins with quick release clips to the bit (rather than buckles or billets), clips must be taped over.
If knotting your reins to make them shorter, undo the buckle at the end to avoid a loop.
Stirrup irons that have a finger space either side of the riders boot, so your foot can safely slip free, (or quick release type stirrup irons).
