Novice
The two Novice classes are for archers who are new to archery and have been shooting for less than a year regardless of bow type. The two classes are divided by age, allowing young archers to shoot the shorter distances of the Fun Shoot and older archers the longer distances of the Junior Burton. An archer can only shoot in this category for one year. This division includes all bow types and gender in one group.
Development
The Development class is as defined by Archery NZ.
NB: There will be awards for the Fun Shoot Novices as a combined group. The Novice and Development classes shooting the Junior Burton will have medals awarded as a combined group.
Participants will only be eligible for awards if they shoot at the correct distances.
If an archer is unable to shoot at the correct distances, they may shoot down a distance but they will not be eligible for awards.
Age groupings are effective on the day of shoot. If a participant is 12 years old on the shoot day they will shoot as a pre-teen. If they are 13 years old on the day of shoot, they will shoot as a teen.
In the case of a draw, the persons who drew will be placed as equals.
