Pāpāmoa Athletic Club - Mini Club

Who can participate in mini club?
This group is for our 3 and 4 year olds who should be supported by their parent/caregiver during each session.

When does the mini club session run?
Each Wednesday throughout our season .
5:00pm - 5:30pm

What activities will the mini club  complete?
The Mini Club will be following the Get Set Go, NZ Athletics programme with a fun competition night every 4th week. Each week groups will rotate through 3 activities, including Locomotive, Manipulation, Balance and Games. All these activities contribute to developing skills used in athletics in a fun way!

Who will lead the session?
We will need 4 parent leaders (volunteers) to oversee each group, each week.
They will be known as the mini club leaders.

Our programme co-ordinator will prepared a programme of activities for the mini club leaders to follow.
If we do not have enough volunteers we will roster parents on to help each week.

How can i become a mini club leader?
We'd love to hear from you if you are able to support the mini club as a leader.
Please email us at papamoaathleticclub@gmail.com
We will meet before the season begins to provide information and coaching support.

What Is Get Set Go?

Active Kiwi Kids Enjoying Sport and Play Every Day!

Get Set Go is designed to help Kiwi kids enjoy being more active through play and sport.

The programme provides educational, developmentally- appropriate, fun activities that build and develop children’s basic fundamental movement skills.

This fun and easy to implement initiative allows kids to develop the essential movement skills they need to make participation in games and sport more fun and successful, including:

  • Physical movement skills
  • Knowledge and cognitive skills
  • Emotional and social skills

Enjoyment and passion for sport is often established at an early age, creating life-long participation and accompanying health benefits. Get Set Go sets Kiwi kids on the path to enjoying a lifelong involvement in physical activity, providing the foundation movements for any sport. Hamish Grey, Chief Executive
